The newest Yu-Gi-Oh! Structure Deck, Blue-Eyes White Destiny, is making waves in the market, both in excitement and in worry. With its impending release this month, Konami has listed that a Secret Rare is included in the deck with a small chance of it being a coveted Quarter Century Rare (QCR).

One of three different cards can show up as a Quarter Century Rare in the Blue-Eyes White Destiny Structure deck. These cards include Blue-Eyes Ultimate Spirit Dragon, Maiden of White, or Wishes for Eyes of Blue. The Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring pictured above to the left is an example of what Quarter Century Rare cards look like. If you do not find these cards as Quarter Century Rares, they instead appear as Secret Rare cards.
For reference, Quarter Century Rare cards were introduced back in 2023 to celebrate Yu-Gi-Oh’s 25-year storied career. This foil treatment features a holographic gold card name, a special watermark bearing the 25th Quarter Century logo, and the usual Secret Rare foil treatment. As with anything in the TCG market, such commodities can command a high price.
Content creators, amidst the process of investigating the worth of this new structure deck, have been making an unsettling discovery. With the collective experience gained by the community, there’s a general agreement that an entire display box consisting of 8 structure decks should net you at least a single QCR. It looks like the rate of finding such an item may be lower than expected, with some unboxing videos showing no QCRs at all.
With this new discovery comes consequences. Looking at TCGplayer.com—an online marketplace now owned by eBay since 2022—single copies of the structure deck are already averaging upwards of $20 per box (unopened) even before release, nearly double the market value of the usual $12.
On the bright side, players looking to return to the old favored Blue-Eyes White Dragon archetype can rejoice as a single copy of the structure deck comes with highly sought-after hand trap staples such as Nibiru, the Primal Being, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Effect Veiler, as well as a host of other pieces that fully support the archetype. Newcomers to the game can easily buy three copies of the product and lay the foundation of a competitive deck with only minor modifications needed. Who knows? You could even get lucky enough to find a Quarter Century Rare yourself.
