For the first time ever, 7-11 will be hosting a promotion for the Pokémon TCG. Equipped with their own promotional card, Pokémon TCG players and collectors who purchase booster packs from 7-11 in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines will also receive a Bonus Lapras.
Not only is this Lapras rather unimpressive, but it’s also not an exclusive game piece. While the artwork on this Lapras Promo, as well as the 7/11 stamp, may be exclusive, you can find this Lapras in the recently released Stellar Crown set.
Even then, Lapras is rather lackluster from a gameplay perspective. EX Basic Pokémon outperform Lapras on every angle. Not only do they have more HP, but their attacks actually do some impressive damage. Aside from collectibility, there is little reason to go after this Lapras.
7/11 Lapras Promo Start Date
If you’re a Pokémon TCG fan who really wants to catch them all, the promotional date for this particular Lapras starts on September 13. That lines up with the release of Stellar Crown, where this Lapras can also be found.
If you’re not in the part of the world where these Lapras are being given away, you can always turn online to try and grab them. Exclusive Promotional cards do have a history of attracting surprisingly high price tags, regardless of the playability of the card in a tournament setting. This doesn’t seem like something that will rival the Van Gogh Pikachu, but should the card be more difficult to get than expected, it could be worth something, despite its lack of playability.
