It looks like Konami is slowly making changes to their release timing as we’re already seeing a new wave of support for the Dragon Tail and Yummy archetypes from Justice Hunters.

Good extender or a follow-through if your board happens to get wiped.

Level 2 Light

Spellcaster/Effect Monster

You can only use the (1)st and (2)nd effects of this card's name each once per turn.

(1) If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 “Dragon Tail” monster in your GY, except “Dragon Tail Phrixl”; Special Summon it, then return 1 monster you control to the hand.

(2) If this card is sent to the GY as material for a Fusion Summon: You can Set 1 “Dragon Tail” Spell/Trap from your Deck.

The newest main deck monster, Dragon Tail Phrixl continues the Dragon Tail pattern of being able to set an in-archetype Spell or Trap card if used as material for a Fusion summon.

As for its main effect, the ability to bring back a body into rotation is a sign of a good extender piece. The real question would be, who’s going to be the target?

Dragon Tail Lucias is the ‘Stratos’ of the main roster, and she functions off the special summon. Dragon Tail Mulr doesn’t have an on-summon effect but can negate the effect of a face-up monster the opponent controls when sent to the graveyard as fusion material.

Dragon Tail Pan and Dragon Tail Urgula follow the same premise as Mulr, but they destroy either a monster or a backrow card, respectively.

As far as utility goes, Phrixl is another name to add to the list of targets Dragon Tail wants to rotate. In a pinch, this particular Dragon Tail monster can act as a combo starter after a board wipe.

It’s not overtly powerful, but adds a layer of consistency to the archetype.

Dragon Tail Sting

Banishing potentially two cards from the opponent's grave isn't game winning, but Sting at least helps keeps cards in rotation.

Normal Trap Card

You can only activate a card with this card’s name once per turn.

(1) Target 1 monster and/or 1 Spell/Trap in your opponent’s GY; banish them, then you can place 1 “Dragon Tail” card from your GY or banishment on the bottom of the Deck, except “Dragon Tail Sting”, then draw 1 card.

While the overall effects of Dragon Tail Sting won’t be raising eyebrows, it does offer another card to shuffle back any of the archetype’s cards into the deck.

Like Dragon Tail Phrixl, Dragon Tail Sting is another form of consistency for the deck as it gets any of the Dragon Tail cards back into rotation for targeted search.

This is especially useful in an archetype that likes to keep searching out its backrow support.

If the match-up ever favors the controlling player banishing the opponent’s cards, then that’s just an added advantage.

It feels like déjà vu while looking at this card.

Level 1 Light

Beast/Effect Monster

You can only use the (1)st and (2)nd effects of this card's name once per turn each.

(1) If you control no monsters, or all monsters you control are LIGHT Beast monsters: You can Special Summon this card from your hand.

(2) If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 “Yummy” Spell/Trap from your GY to your hand, or, if it was Special Sumoned by a Synchro Monster’s effect, you can place 1 “Yummy” Field Spell or Continuous Spell/Trap from your Deck or banishment face-up on your field instead.

Marshmao☆Yummy feels like the odd-man out from the main Yummy roster. Unlike the original trio of Cooky, Cupsy, and Lollipo, Marshmao doesn’t need a Link-1 or Level 2 Synchro monster on the field to special summon itself.

In fact, Marshmao is a very good card going first because it can preserve the turn’s normal summon. For going second, Marshmao naturally plays with the extra deck monsters of the archetype.

It adds a layer of redundancy as each of the Yummy Synchro monsters can now be a direct line to the archetype field spell, Yummyusment★Acrockie, by just re-summoning Marshmao back.

The Yummy archetype is already showing itself to be a highly resilient engine that can easily get through and set up endboards through its repeated redundancy; and Marshmao☆Yummy just adds to that.

Yum☆Yum☆Yummys

It's not overtly powerful, but Konami didn't need to give Yummy such a strong support card.

Continuous Spell Card

You can only use the (2)nd and (3)rd effects of this card’s name once per turn each.

(1) Each time 2 or more “Yummy” monsters are Special Summoned to your field at the same time, gain 500 LP, and if you do, your opponent pays 500 LP.

(2) You can pay 500 LP, then target 2 face-up monsters on the field, including “Yummy★Snatchy”; send both to the GY, and if you do, Special Summon 1 “Yummy” Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck (this is treated as a Synchro Summon).

(3) If your opponent activates a card or effect: You can pay 100 LP; immediately after this effect resolves, Link Summon 1 “Yummy” monster.

We didn’t know what Konami had planned for the future of the Yummy archetype, but this was probably not what fans would have imagined.

Just ticking off the list: a) it’s burn damage, b) it’s an in-archetype pseudo Super Polymerization, c) it’s a ‘quick’ Link summon off an opponent’s card/effect activation to link summon Yummy★Snatchy.

The last effect is pretty insidious. Yummy★Snatchy is already a powerful card in its own right due to its Quick Effect speed Synchro summon capabilities within the archetype.

If it’s not dealt with, however, then it acts as fodder for the non-destruction board removal given by this Continuous Spell.

As for the burn damage, it may look like a pittance at first, but the Yummy archetype can easily cycle its synchro monsters to ludicrous degrees. That 500 lifepoint damage may end stacking fast.

While Yum☆Yum☆Yummys may not be a win condition, it can make One-Turn-Kills (OTKs) a lot easier to do.
