Hearthstone has been around for very nearly 10 years now. That's kind of an absurd fact. Having launched all the way back in 2014 on March 11th, it's also just true. If that makes you feel old, or if it makes you long for the game it was all that time ago, then there's good news, because Heartstone's Twist mode has you covered.

Rather aptly, Twist is getting a twist and will be aiming to take players through the history of the game throughout March. Starting on March 1, Twist will only allow access to Legacy cards. On each following day, a new expansion will be added until everything's back to normal.

If you want to hear it from Bizzard's own mouth, here's what they say about the twisty twist coming to Twist:

"On March 1, only Legacy will be legal. On March 2, Hearthstone’s first infusion of cards, Curse of Naxxramas, will be added to the legal card pool. On March 3, Goblins vs Gnomes will be added. Each day, the next infusion of cards will be added until we've fast-forwarded through the entire history of Hearthstone!"

If you've been playing since the beginning of the game, Twist this month is going to be a great way to remember how the game started, how it changed, and how we all ended up with the version of Hearthstone it is now.

That being said, it doesn't appear as though cards will be rolled back to previous versions. That means that, while the card selection will be mostly the same, it's not going to be quite true to form as some cards will cost more or less than they used to. Still, though, it should be a fun way to play Hearthstone for those who have fond memories of things.

It's also a good time to get into the game if you've not done so before, as you'll be able to play through a huge chunk of what's happened and changed in the game since its inception. It's fun, and sometimes that's what you need in a game.

The twist on Twist is all part of the Year of the Pegasus, which is basically Hearthstone's way of celebrating its 10-year anniversary. Alongside this mode, there's also going to be some special giveaways for players, anniversary awards, and even an album that's releasing on March 11th, with another two coming later this year.

It's a good time to be part of the Hearthstone community, and logging in will even net you a Fiery Hearthsteed World of Warcraft mount, as long as you log in from March 11th onwards. You can log in before then, too, but you won't get the mount until the 11th. So, make sure you get those daily games in and enjoy the joys of Hearthstone while the getting is good.
