Last Friday, Konami released the latest update for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden/Limited Ban list. Affecting 26 cards, this was a monster of a ban announcement that's bound to have a serious effect on the Yu-Gi-Oh! metagame. Unsurprisingly, we're already starting to see these effects happen, as multiple cards are exploding in price on the secondary market.

Linkuriboh

Now that it has come off the Forbidden list to become Limited, demand for, and the price of, Linkuriboh have skyrocketed since Friday. Since this little Link-1 has been sitting on the Forbidden list, even the Quarterly Secret Rare (QCSR) versions of this card were sitting at bargain bin prices of less than a dollar. That was until news of the ban list update was made public, at least.

Once the Forbidden list update was announced, it didn't take long for prices to increase by over 700%. The QCSR variant is already at a 6$ asking price, while the Ultra Rare variants are worth around $3 to $4.

Given Linkuriboh is incredibly useful to the Yummy archetype and their roster of Level-1 monsters, this surge in demand is entirely expected. This card is bound to be a strong performer in the new metagame and valuable as a result.

Looking ahead, there's a good chance that prices will continue to climb, especially for the chase variants. That said, should Linkuriboh somehow manage not to excel in Yummy decks, then its price could fall back down. Either way, this is definitely one to watch.

Fiendsmith Rextremende

Much like Linkuriboh, Fiendsmith Rextremende is also seeing a steep increase in demand following the changes to the Forbidden list. Now that Fiendsmith's Lacrima has left the Forbidden list to become Limited, it's now a lot easier to summon Fiendsmith Rextremende without sacrificing Fiendsmith Desirae.

To date, there have only been a few print runs of Fiendsmith Rextremende, each at a rather high rarity. Despite appearing in Supreme Darkness, Infinite Forbidden, and Quarter Century Stampede, copies are actually fairly scarce.

Thanks to the increased demand, this scarcity has now been amplified. Currently, near-mint copies of this card are selling for between $3 and $5 on TCGplayer.

Currently, it's a little difficult to say if this card will keep climbing in price, but things do look good. Since Konami has recently teased Magical Musket Mastermind Caspar, this archetype will soon have access to the Fiendsmith engine. This, in turn, could make Fiendsmith Rextremende a must-buy in the future.

Notably, however, this future isn't here yet. Until we see the future Magical Musket support cards, it's unclear how vital Fiendsmith Rextremende will be.
