Keeping up with Pokémon TCG sets can be a bit confusing. Like Yu-Gi-Oh!, what’s going on in North America and in Japan can be quite different. This can make keeping track of new sets rather confusing, as players are unsure of exactly where they are released.
This time around, the Pokémon Company has announced Stellar Crown as the next Pokémon TCG set that will be seen worldwide. In this set, players can look forward to the debut of the Stellar Tera type, alongside the Legendary Pokémon Terapagos. Let’s take a look at everything that we know about Pokémon Stellar Crown so far.
Pokémon Stellar Crown Release Date
The Pokémon Company announced that the release date for Stellar Crown will be September 13, 2024. Following that date, the set will be available worldwide. Canadian, American, and U.K.-based fans can preorder Stellar Crown today.
If September 13 is too long of a wait, there are some opportunities to play with the new contents of Stellar Crown before then. Prerelease tournaments for the set will begin on August 31. Prerelease events generally offer players a taste of what is to come in a new set, encouraging play with the new cards.
Pokémon Stellar Crown will also be available early digitally. The digital release date for this set comes one day before the official release on September 12, 2024. You can find the new set on the Pokemon TCG Live App early.
Pokémon Stellar Crown Contents
In addition to Terapagos’s first appearance in the TCG, other new Pokémon found in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC can also be found making their debut in this set. Archaludon and Hydrapple fans should be excited that they now have an opportunity to collect their favorite characters in the Pokémon TCG.
Pokémon Stellar Crown will include cards from the Japanese Stellar Miracle expansion and marks the seventh set in the Scarlet & Violet era of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
In terms of special chase card content that players can look forward to, here is a list of cards for players to collect:
- Over 170 cards
- Three ACE SPEC rare Trainer cards
- 10 Pokémon ex and four Stellar Tera Pokémon ex
- 13 illustration rare Pokémon
- More than 20 Trainer cards
- More than 30 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations
- Six special Illustration Rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
- Three hyper rare gold etched cards
Otherwise, you can find a list of confirmed cards being released in Stellar Crown here.
Pokémon Stellar Crown Stellar Tera EX
A new type of Pokémon card, or more of a twist on an existing Pokémon card type, will also be appearing in Stellar Crown for the first time. This is the debut of the Stellar Tera Type EX for the Pokémon TCG, an extension of the Tera Type gimmick that appears in the Scarlet & Violet video game.
These Pokémon all have special moves that require three different Energy to use, making them rather difficult to access. Due to this added difficulty, many of the three energy special moves are rather powerful. Stellar Terapagos EX's ability, for example, provides a potent protection effect from all basic non-colorless Pokémon.
