It’s been a week since the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) has been graced with the release of its newest (twin) expansion(s) Black Bolt and White Flare.
It also appears that the TCG’s digital cousin Pokemon TCG Live (PTCGL), has also joined in the festivities with some free giveaways.
Illustration Rare Cards:

On the eve of Black Bolt and White Flare’s debut, the official X account for PTCGL made an announcement for a giveaway code.
According to the information provided, this code will be valid until the 9th of October 10 AM PDT or while supplies.
Once redeemed, the code will give a set of Illustration Rare versions of Samurott and its evolutionary members, Dewott and Oshawott.
Players interested in redeeming this giveaway can enter the following code: BLACKBOLTWHITEFLARE25
How to Redeem:
For those unfamiliar with how to redeem the giveaway code, you can do so either through the PTCGL app or through the official website, here. You can use the following steps to help.
Through PTCGL App on PC:
- Go to the ‘Shop’ of PTCGL.
- Select ‘Redeem’ and then input the code in the indicated text box.
- Click on ‘Submit Code’ and the rewards should appear on the right side of the screen.
- Click on ‘Collect All/Claim Rewards. ’
From there, the items should either be automatically added to your collection.
Through the Website:
- Once you’re at the website, navigate the ‘Build Your Collection' page, which has the ‘Redeem Now’ button.
- Log in to the PTCGL account you want to redeem the code for.
- Enter the giveaway code and click ‘Submit Code. ’
A menu should then appear to display the rewards, and from there, just click the ‘Claim Now’ button to add the item/s to your collection.
Log-In Rewards:

The code giveaway isn’t the only thing TPCi (The Pokémon Company International) is giving out for Pokemon Live.
In another announcement posted on their official X account, Pokemon Live is holding a log-in reward. Players who log in will be able to receive: 2,000 Trainer Points, 2,000 Trade Credits, and an Illustration Rare copy of both Reshiram ex and Zekrom ex.
The only parameter to follow for this giveaway is to just log in to your PTCGL account before the 14th of August 10 am Pacific.
PTCGL Code Cards:

On the topic of code redemptions, Pokebeach has noticed that the wording on advertised booster boxes for the upcoming Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia has changed.
Originally, when opening a booster pack for the physical card game, a copy of a random Basic energy card and a PTCGL code card would be included.
For the paired expansion of Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia, booster packs would now contain either the Basic energy card or the PTCGL code card, but not both.
Currently, there's no telling whether or not this is genuine; however, it should quickly be confirmed once the set is released.
Assuming that this is true, that booster packs will not always contain a code card for PTCGL, it could explain PTCGL’s update a couple of weeks ago, where redeemed code cards would now give 10 random cards instead of the original 5.
