Mark your calendars fellow Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) enthusiasts. On May 16th the vanguard for Destined Rivals will be making landfall upon the shores of the western market.
Destined Rivals Begins with ex Starter Decks

It was a few weeks ago when the Pokémon Company International (TPCi) announced the reveal of an ex starter deck featuring Marnie and her Pokémon. Containing Morpeko and Grimmsnarl, this product was first revealed for the Japanese market.
Now it’s not just the aforementioned Marnie but another ex starter deck featuring Steven and his Pokémon, Bedlum and Metagross, that will be arriving as well. To add a little more incentive, each starter deck will come packaged with an exclusive Special Illustration Rare (SIR). For Marnie, it’ll be her Morpeko; for Steven, it’ll be his Bedlum.
Collectors willing to add to their collection may want to snap up a copy of these decks as they hit shelves in about three months' time.
But it’s not just the Destined Rivals starter decks that’ll be arriving on May 16th.
More for Prismatic Evolutions

On the same day, the Prismatic Evolutions Super-Premium Collection will be available for purchase.
Including a fuzzy deck box, a play mat, and 65 card sleeves, all items feature the Pokémon Eevee and its many evolution forms. Shoring up the collection are 15 of the Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions booster packs as well as a code card for Pokémon TCG Live. To crown off this package is a full-art foil Special Art Rare (SAR) of Eevee ex from the same expansion set.

While it probably won’t be as ravenously sought after by collectors as its cousin, the vaunted Special Illustration Rare (SIR) Umbreon ex, a promotional card separately published from the rest still has its own value.
With the official release of Destined Rivals moving closer (May 30th), keep an eye out. Hot Wind Arena has all but been officially confirmed to be part of Destined Rival’s source pool. Adding Marnie’s and Steven’s ex starter deck into the mix, all that’s left is Glory to the Rocket Gang expansion to complete the card list.
