Konami is firing on all cylinders this week as it announces Yu-Gi-Oh’s 2025 World Championship.
From humble beginnings over twenty years ago, the Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship started in 2003 in New York, USA. With only 18 attendees, the event would grow from year to year and country to country, amassing attendance and prestige. Unfortunately, the years 2020 to 2022 saw the celebrated event on hiatus due to world-changing circumstances.
But with its return last 2023 and a successful follow-up just last year (2024) in Seattle, Washington, USA, it's safe to say that the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championships is back better than ever. Now, Konami has chosen the next venue for one of Yu-Gi-Oh!'s most venerated occasions.
This year's Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championships is scheduled for August 30th to 31st, 2025. The event will feature tournaments in the paper Trading Card Game (TCG) and its two digital formats. Yu-Gi-Oh! duelists from across the globe will be heading towards Paris, France.
Konami has yet to reveal any details leading up to the World Championship but has already prepared a trailer, which can be viewed above.
August may seem far away, but six months pass quickly. Let’s keep our eyes peeled on who will become the next King of Games.
