Here’s everything you need to know about Disney Lorcana: Into the Inklands!
Into the Inklands Release Date
Disney Lorcana: Into the Inkands is scheduled to release on February 23, 2024. On this date, the set and its products will be available at local game stores and Disney Parks. Following this date, Into the Inklands will be available at major retailers on March 8, 2024.
Into the Inklands New Cards
As we mentioned before, Into the Inklands features many new cards. In total, the set will include 204 cards, as well as a handful of enchanted rares.
Unsurprisingly, within this long list of cards, a significant number feature returning characters with a new twist. Thanks to the titular Ink, many returning characters are now in different ink colors.
Alongside the returning cast of Storyborn and Dreamborn characters, Into the Inklands also features a trio of new franchises. These beloved Disney properties are One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Atlantis, and Treasure Planet. With these properties getting a dozen cards, aside from Treasure Planet, there’s certainly a lot for fans to enjoy.
As if the new cards weren’t enough to get excited about, Into the Inklands has even more up its sleeves. Disney Lorcana is getting a brand new card type: Locations! Able to be played like any other card, Locations offer effects to creatures placed upon them. Since these new cards have quite a few important details, we’ll cover them in more depth later.
If you want to see all the cards for yourself, the Disney Lorcana companion app will have everything after release.
Into the Inklands Locations
Appearing for the first time in Into the Inklands, Locations are a brand new card type in Disney Lorcana. Unsurprisingly, these cards depict locations across the Disney universe and have massive gameplay potential. Without any need to dry, these cards can be used from the moment they’re cast, potentially providing instantly incredible utility.
To get into the nitty-gritty, Locations can be cast like any other spell in Lorcana. When these cards are played, however, they are placed horizontally on your board. Once there, a character can be placed onto the Location by paying the Move cost (seen on the left). A Location can have any number of characters move to it; however, each character can only be in one Location.
Like characters, Locations can be banished once their damage reaches their Wilpower stat. If this happens while characters are on the Location, they will 'fall out' and return to the board. When this happens, characters don’t take any damage. However, the abilities they gained are obviously lost.
Many Locations also feature Lore Symbols on the right-hand side of the card. During the beginning phase of your turn, you gain lore equal to the number of lore symbols on the Location. This will happen even if the Location has no characters on it.
Into the Inklands Products
Following the trend set by Disney Lorcana’s first release, Into the Inklands has a quartet of major products. The first is the set’s Booster Packs, which have three designs. These packs can be purchased individually or as part of a Booster Box. Thankfully for players interested in the latter option, Into the Inklands Booster Boxes will be completely shrink-wrapped for added protection.
For Into the Inklands, Ravensburger is also releasing two Starter decks, as usual. This time around, the Ink colors for the two decks are Amber/Emerald and Ruby/Sapphire. Containing 60 cards, one Booster Pack, and a quick start rulebook, these decks are a great way to start playing.
Like past releases, Into the Inklands will also have its very own Illumineer’s Trove. Containing eight Booster packs, card dividers, a storage box, and a handful of counters, this product is ideal for organization. However, should that not suit your fancy, there’s also the Jump In: Gift Set. Containing four foils, Booster Packs, and a bunch of other accessories, this aptly named product is a great gift.
