Before this weekend, the Bloodmoon Ursula was only exclusively seen in video games through the Pokémon Crystal Mask DLC and was yet to make an appearance in the Pokémon trading card games.

The reveal during the Japan 2024 Champions League Fukuoka livestream, however, shows the rare Peat Pokémon finally joining the ranks of Pokémon that have already appeared in the TCGs.

Bloodmoon Ursaluna from the Pokemon Crystal Mask DLC

In the video game, the Bloodmoon Ursaluna is a single specimen of the Ursaluna that braved the sea and arrived in Kitakami, where it evolved into its current form due to the island’s inhospitable living conditions.

In the video game, Blood Moon Ursaluna comes equipped with the ability Mind's Eye, preventing accuracy reductions and allowing Normal and Fighting type moves to hit Ghost types, similar to Scrappy.

Like the rest of the cards in the upcoming set, which hits stores on March 22, 2024, the Bloodmoon Ursaluna card prominently has a silver-on-black color scheme. As you can see, since it's one of the few parts of this card that doesn't require translation, Bloodmoon Ursaluna has 260 Hit Points.

The character portrait shows a roaring Bloodmoon Ursaluna with its left eye shining, and its left claw seemingly reaching out to the viewer. The claw is emitting blood-red energy, possibly charging its signature Blood Moon attack from the Pokémon Crystal Mask DLC.

Below the portrait are the details of the card’s attributes, written in Japanese Katakana characters.

Translated to English, it describes the card as Basic and has the main ability called Elder’s Technique. This technique allows the player to capitalize on Prize Cards captured by the enemy to save costs by reducing the Blood Moon attack's required Energy costs by one per captured Prize Card.

However, this Card’s handicap prevents you from attacking for a second time once Blood Moon has been cast.

The SV5a Scarlet & Violet Enhanced Expansion Pack Crimson Haze will bring 66 new cards and an unknown number of SR cards or better in 1 Booster Box. The entire set will cost you JPY5,400 or roughly $35.
