Fair winds, Illumineers! We’re back with another top 5 as we dive straight back into the Azurite Sea expansion. Our previous article looked over the most expensive cards in the set, briefly scrutinizing the history of their price fluctuation from the time of their release to present day. Now we’re here to see how well the market actually reflected the player trend.
5. Lilo - Escape Artist
Already we’re seeing a difference between the two lists. First is Lilo - Escape Artist. This glimmer, the in-lore label for created/summoned entities/existences, has one defining feature, and it’s that Lilo can relentlessly come back to see play again, and again, and again.

Lilo herself may not look too threatening to the state of your play, however, that 2 lore she holds for questing is a definite future threat if left unchecked. The fact she has a relatively cheap to use self-recursion that mostly laughs at almost all forms board removal makes Lilo - Escape Artist magnitudes more frustrating to deal with than it may seem. She just won't go away.
4. Sail the Azurite Sea
As majestic as card designs may hope to be, Sail the Azurite Sea is more or less the simplest card on this list. Sail the Azurite Sea, essentially, allows you to get ahead on ink. It won't even cost you a card since Sail of the Azurite Sea replaces itself by drawing a card.

Even in a vacuum, the application of this card is monstrous. It allows a player to speed up the construction of their inkwell, letting them reach a higher ink curve and have the resources to activate cards at a significantly faster pace.
3. Genie - Wish Fulfilled

And he’s back, in the same position no less. There’s not much we can add that hasn’t already been said in our past article about this card. Solid stats, a relatively cheap cost, Genie - Wish Fulfilled and the next card on this list cements the overarching strength of amethyst in making sure there are always resources ready to be used by the player.
2. Diablo - Obedient Raven

This little guy is the left hand to Genie’s right hand. This feathered ally puts the opposing player in a quandary as any attempt to banish the bird will see the owner getting more resources as compensation. Between Diablo - Obedient Raven and Genie - Wish Fulfilled, any amethyst player would be enjoying a veritable smorgasbord of choices being brought into literal hand’s reach. To sweeten the deal, Diablo - Obedient Raven is an uncommon card making him easier to get from a booster pack.
1. Calhoun - Marine Sergeant

Genie was not the only one to return from our other article. Calhoun - Marine Sergeant arrives to claim the top spot as Azurite’s Sea most popular card amongst players.
Serving as a quick 2 ink cost drop glimmer, an un-inkable one at that, Calhoun’s right to be at the top of this list is centered around her versatility and ability to just punch above her weight class. She's also the only card on this list not to have any form of hand or state manipulation. As thematically appropriate as this may sound, Calhoun - Marine Sergeant relies on no tricks, just her body of work to get the job done.
And with that, we end the chapter on the Azurite Sea expansion set. The cards are still tournament legal as Disney Lorcana has yet to introduce any form of set rotation. With Archazia’s Island just around the bend, who knows how these cards will perform in the future?
