Konami has revealed another card for the upcoming Chronicles structure deck. The Fallen & The Virtuous structure deck, featuring cards centered around Albaz and the Branded archetype, is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 24th, 2025.
New Quick-Play Spell Card: The Fallen & The Virtuous

This card is always treated as a “Branded” and “Dogmatika” card. You can only activate 1 card with this card's name per turn.
(1) Activate 1 of these effects;
● Send 1 monster that mentions “Fallen of Albaz” from your Extra Deck to the GY, then target 1 face-up card on the field; destroy it.
● If you have an “Ecclesia” monster in your field or GY: Target 1 monster in either GY; Special Summon it to your field.
There is no denying this card’s quality in-game. Almost every aspect of this new spell card is elevated because of the possible interactions it can have with a multitude of archetypes. Any card in the Branded, Dogmatika, Despia, or Tri-Brigade archetypes that even mentions “Fallen of Albaz” can potentially lead to an interaction with this spell card in some way or another.
By being a Quick-Play spell, the controlling player already has a lot of freedom to use this card, whether going first or second. This card can even be left on the field as a potential interaction point just because the first effect can do targeted destruction to any face-up card on the field.
The first effect’s card advantage doesn’t end with just being a card pop. There’s a good amount of extra deck monsters that mention Fallen of Albaz, some of which have an effect that gets it sent to the graveyard at the end of the turn. Depending on the match-up and what the controlling player wants to do, the sky is practically the limit with the first effect of this card alone.
The second effect for The Fallen & The Virtuous may not be as readily used as the first. We can attribute this to the fact that there’s a hard once-per-turn clause tacked on. Players may generally want the first effect for the potential card advantage and board-breaking prowess it has. That doesn’t mean that the revive capabilities are to be slept on, though.
The revive function for The Fallen & The Virtuous does need the controlling player to seed the graveyard with an Ecclesia monster first, but that’s a pretty easy requirement to fulfill for the archetype as a whole. Once online, a player could potentially have two forms of board breaking, either through the first effect’s card destruction or bringing back Fallen of Albaz for some quick fusion antics during the opponent’s end phase.
We’re barely scratching the potential of what The Fallen & The Virtuous brings to the table. Once this card and its structure deck comes out, we may possibly see the return of another fan-favorite archetype to the forefront of the Yu-Gi-Oh! zeitgeist.
