Two new cards for the upcoming Disney Lorcana Fabled expansion have just been revealed. This time, we're getting another new ‘A Goofy Movie’ card alongside a Lion King character making its debut in Disney Lorcana.

Song recursion goes a long way in freeing up your inkwell.

A new Max Goof enters the roster, and this time, it’s a Legendary rare. Chart Topper has pretty good stats when played on his Shift line, and thanks to Rebellious Teen’s presence in Emerald itself, a player doesn’t necessarily need to pair up with Ruby for the Shift line.

As for Chart Topper’s ability, it’s pretty powerful despite its limitations. With Ravensburger’s push to pair Emerald with Ruby in particular, the reprint of King Undisputed can easily clear out two characters from the opponent’s board with Max. Alternatively, we could go in-house and use Mother’s Knows Best, another card up for reprint, to just bounce any potentially dangerous threats that could swing into Max in the following turn.

There’s a lot of potential with Chart Topper just because he can freely duplicate a song already in the discard pile. This saves a lot of ink for other plays, even if the choice of targets can end up running out due to Chart Topper sending the songs back into the deck. At the same time, questing for 2 Lore is still respectable isn’t bad all things considered.

Chart Topper does lack any sort of protection, though, so the controlling player would need to be wary when finally making use of Max’s ‘Number One Hit’ ability.

Scar – Usurper King

A Strong draw engine, but it won't be cheap.

Storyborn · Villain · King

You’ll Thank Me Later: Your Ally Characters get +1 Strength

Long Live The King: At the end of your turn, if this character is exerted, you may choose one of your Ally characters and draw cards equal to their strength. If you do, banish that character and discard 2 cards.

Scar - Usurper King presents an interesting quandary for Steel decks to use. It’s a powerful draw engine if you have the right targets to sacrifice, but you’d need at least someone with 2 Strength to at least turn ‘Long Live The King’ into at least a hand cycle.

Thankfully, the lowest common denominator is easy to reach since Scar himself already boosts the strength of other Allies. This also makes a case for players to run and deploy multiple copies of Usurper King just because the Strength from each copy can stack, leading to some very interesting board states.

Notably, this doesn’t change the fact that a player would have to be very comfortable in exchanging board presence for potential card advantage.

Interestingly enough, Usurper King could work well with Amethyst and the Illusion character types. Most Illusion characters have a higher normal Strength, which will be boosted further by Usurper King, almost guaranteeing you a net positive on the card draw despite the impending discard.

If Jafar - High Sultan of Lorcana is already on the board, then you could use the forced discard by Usurper King to field two more Illusion bodies for free.

Scar - Usurper King requires a little bit of investment in terms of in-game resources, but Steel has seldom enjoyed the same kind of draw power as other colors have. So just having the option of a powerful draw tool could add to deck consistency.
