The spoiler season for Disney Lorcana's Reign of Jafar expansion is officially underway. Ravensburger kicked things off recently during their presentation, all about the future of Disney Lorcana. Now, it seems that even more new cards are steadily being revealed.

Using the time-worn method of consumer-generated advertising, more cards from the Reign of Jafar expansion have been making the rounds all over. To start things off, we've got some new cards from the ever-endearing Bambi franchise.

Twitterpated

A little bit of tech choice to consider once set rotation comes in.

First up is Twitterpated. This 1 ink cost Action offers some utility to the Ruby ink color, which is mostly known for its aggressive playstyle with direct board removal and high Strength characters.

Twitterpated can easily be used offensively or defensively. The former can allow your combat-ready glimmers to swing into targets they normally wouldn’t be able to. The latter can protect your questing characters from enemy reprisal.

At the moment, Twitterpated might not seem that useful. Even with its single ink cost, this is still two cards you’d need to invest in that can easily be replicated by the likes of Brawl or other early game board removal staples like Let the Storm Rage On.

With Ravensburger’s announcement of set rotation, however, a lot of powerful staple cards like the ones aforementioned will disappear from the Classic Constructed format.

If Ruby doesn’t have the same kind of firepower for direct board removal as before, then Twitterpated may have a space in future decks. This may be especially true if partnered with Steel, which has a specialty in characters who gain benefits for challenging the opposing board.

Friend Owl – Cantankerous Neighbor

A standard body, good for plugging up the holes in a deck if you don't have everything you want.

The next card on the list is pretty vanilla. At 2 ink cost, the inkable Friend Owl - Cantankerous Neighbor joins the rather short list of 2 Strength and Willpower bodies that can also quest for 2 Lore.

Ravensburger seems to be pushing some form of tribal support with Ally characters as of late. It’s possible the ink colors may gain more tools specifically targeting this kind of character type in the future.

As it stands, though, Friend Owl wouldn’t be a bad choice to fill up those empty slots in your deck if you’re just starting out in playing Disney Lorcana.

Faline – Playful Fawn

Faline could make for a very stealthy gap closer if used at the right time.

It appears Ruby is getting a lot of the Bambi cards as Faline - Playful Fawn joins the ink color’s roster. At 4 ink cost and with an uninkable nature, Faline - Playful Fawn doesn’t look that impressive.

The current rotation will just eat this little one alive as her 2 Strength puts her quickly within the range of Brawl or Sisu - Empowered Sibling.

Faline’s 4 Willpower does protect from early game direct damage like Strength of Raging Fire, but that can quickly change depending on circumstances.

Faline can easily bump up her Lore score to a three if the parameters of her ability, Precocious Friend, are met. Doing that, however, warrants more resources to invest in terms of card advantage.

That said, as we've mentioned, the 9th expansion, Fabled, marks the start of Set Rotation for Disney Loracana. With it, a lot of these direct board removal threats will no longer be an issue.

Despite the setup needed for Faline, she could end up bridging the gap in the Lore race if the opponent deems her a non-threat until it’s too late.

Forest Duel

It may be costly, but it can generate card advantage in the mid-game.

At first blush, Forest Duel may be disregarded as an Action card with some moderate, if negligible returns with that 5 ink cost. That said, Amethyst does seem to specialize in these weird kinds of shenanigans.

Our first thoughts immediately went to cards like Diablo - Obedient Raven, Bucky - Nutty Rascal, or Genie - Wish Fulfilled.

These three are examples of cards that don’t mind being banished for a second chance to be played due to the card advantage they can generate.

All this is still on top of a Challenger +2 benefit. Forest Duel can easily contribute to board presence as you swing into something for mutually assured destruction or for a lethal setup.

With its inkable nature and relatively moderate cost as far as the mid-game is concerned, Forest Duel may actually see some play in the competitive scene. The Set Rotation will do away with a lot of board nukes, so challenging an opponent’s glimmer may not be a bad win condition if played well.

Bambi – Little Prince

The last card on this list is the titular character himself, Bambi - Little Prince.

Assuming he sticks the landing, that's a total of four Lore that needs to be addressed

With a 3 ink cost, an uninkable nature, there are a lot of negative aspects tacked on to this card at the moment. You can immediately think that Bambi - Little Prince is a worse version of Merlin - Goat.

But the Little Prince does have his own tricks, as befitting his ink color. First of all is Bambi’s whopping 3 Lore gain. That’s pretty impressive given how cheap Bambi is.

Bambi’s ability, Kind of Bashful, is character accurate and can be a little bit of a double-edged sword.

On one hand, the ability can allow Bambi to bounce back into the hand. This lets his player gain lore again by just playing the card again the following turn.

On the other side of the coin, however, this means that the opponent can undo the investment into playing Bambi by just playing a cheap 1 ink cost body onto the field.

It’s a little difficult to parse where Bambi - Little Prince’s usefulness lies at this point in time. Board removal staples are still running rampant like The First Chapter’s Be Prepared.

There’s also the fact that Bambi can easily be bounced back without much investment on the opponent’s part. Bambi might give you one Lore when played, but a 3 ink cost investment is not cheap, given how fast competitive matches can go.
